A three-sport star at Portage Central HS, Ort won a State Division I Title as a junior...As a senior, he was an All-State Second Team pick...Also played football and basketball...Spent one year each at Kalamazoo Valley CC and Grand Rapids CC...At KVCC, he hit .406 with 37 RBI and six homers...Finished with a 4-2 record on the mound to earn MCCAA Second Team honors...At GRCC, he was a 2005 NJCAA Division II National Champion...Selected to the All-District and All-Region teams after hitting .333 with 20 RBI and 15 runs...Held a 5-2 record as a pitcher with a 1.61 ERA.
