2005...Appeared in just one game in his first collegiate season. Came in as a pinch hitter April 6 against Miami (Ohio) at Time Warner Cable Stadium. Prior to UD...Cannon comes to Dayton via New Lexington High School in New Lexington, OH. There he was a three-sport athlete, splitting time between the gridiron, the court, and the diamond. In four years of baseball, Cannon was three-times an All League selection in the Muskingum Valley League as well as a participant in the Southeast Ohio District All-Star Game. As a running back for the Panthers, Cannon was twice a first team All State selection as well as being a two-time Player of the Year in the MVL. Drew also took home All League honors in basketball, and was named New Lexington's Scholar Athlete of the Year his senior year.
