Prior to UD...Bohnenstiehl joins Beatty as the second transfer from Southwest Illinois College. There, he enjoyed a highly decorated career that started with a freshman campaign in which the left-handed batting Bohnensteihl hit .371 with 33 RBI in 59 games played. For his efforts, he earned spots on the GRAC All Conference team, the Regional Tournament Team, and the All Region Outfield core. His play only got better during a sophomore year where he again brought home All Region Outfield and All Conference honors, in addition to being an All District selection, the Regional Tournament MVP, and a first team junior college All American. In high school, Bohnenstiehl was an All State Team selection from Lebanon high school in Illinois.
