Prior to UD...Beatty comes to Dayton via Southwest Illinois College where he hit .351, and led SIC in home runs (15) and RBI (66) during his sophomore season. There, he was an All Region selection and All GRAC performer. In 2001, Beatty was a Division I freshman All American at Southeast Missouri State before transferring to SIC. In high school, he was a St. Louis All-Metro selection three times from Althoff Catholic HS, and was named the high school player of the year after his senior season in 2000.
