    DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's soccer team begins the final stage of the regular season on the road against A-10 opponents St. Bonaventure and Duquesne this weekend. The unbeaten Flyers (9-0-5) begin in Olean, N.Y. against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies (7-7-0 overall and 4-1-0 A-10) on Friday, Oct. 16 at 12:00 p.m. ET. The Dayton Flyers end the weekend traveling to Pittsburgh where they will play Duquesne (3-9-0) this Sunday, Oct. 18 at 2:30 p.m. ET.

    SERIES INFORMATION
    • In the all-time series Dayton is unbeaten (11-0-2) against the Bonnies. Last year, the Flyers blitzed the Bonnies 4-0.
    • The Flyers own the series against the Duquesne Dukes, winning 12 of 13 games (12-1-0). The Flyers have won every game for the past eight years. The last meeting was on Oct. 19, 2008 when Lauren MacCormick scored two goals and Mandi Bäck scored a goal to lead the Flyers to a 4-1 victory.

    FLYING STREAK
    • The University of Dayton's women soccer squad currently has the longest unbeaten streak in the A-10 and is the only team remaining in the Conference that has not suffered a loss this season.
    • Out of 322 Division I teams, the Flyers are one of three teams that are yet to be beaten. The only other teams are Stanford (13-0-0) and South Carolina (13-0-1) (research provided by College Soccer 360).
    • Dayton's 14-game unbeaten streak is the best start to a season in team history since 1997 when UD went on an 8-0 run to start the campaign. The Flyers finished 16-4-0 that year with an 8-3-0 record in the A-10.

    A-10 LEADERS
    Dayton leads the A-10 in shots (336), goals allowed (4), goals against average (0.26), shutouts (10), corner kicks (115) and home attendance (834 fans per game). The Flyers are third in points (75) and second in goals (26) and goals per game (1.86)

    RANKINGS RELEASED
    • Dayton is currently ranked No. 2 in the Mid-Atlantic Region by the NSCAA. The Flyers held the top spot in this poll for two consecutive weeks to start the season.
    • UD is No. 26 on the Top Drawer Tournament 64 Rankings. They are also ranked No. 39 in the College Soccer 360 Poll and No. 38 in the 2009 NCAA Women's soccer RPI Ranking.
    • The Flyers are tied for first in the Atlantic 10 with a 5-0-1 record. They are one of two teams unbeaten in conference so far; Charlotte is the other.

    SHUTDOWN DAYTON D
    • The Flyers have shut out 10 of their 14 opponents this season and challengers have just scored four goals, which tops the A-10 (Saint Louis is the next closest having allowed nine goals). The four scores against the UD defense came against No. 25 Auburn in a 1-1 tie on Aug. 28, a Flyer 2-1 win over Miami on Sept. 18, a 2-1 victory over La Salle on Oct. 4, and a 2-1 OT thrilling victory against Saint Louis on Oct. 11. The RedHawks' goal was the first the Flyer defense had allowed in more than 557 minutes (that's more than nine hours without allowing a goal). The UD record for shutouts is 13 set in 2004 by the squad that allowed just 12 goals all season.
    • Dayton is ranked third in the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer National Ranking Summary in Goals against Average (0.259) and tied for fifth in Shutout Percentage (.714).
    • UD has outscored opponents 26-4 with the help of three different 4-0 victories, including; over previously undefeated Middle Tennessee State (Aug. 30), over Ball State (Sept. 11), over Temple (Sept. 25), and most recently over George Washington (Sept. 27).

    UP NEXT
    The University of Dayton women's soccer team ends the season with three games at Baujan Field. The Flyers start off against the Rhode Island Rams (4-8-1) on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. ET. UD finishes the weekend against Massachusetts Sunday, Oct. 25 at 1:00 p.m. ET. The regular season ends against Xavier at Baujan on Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m.

    SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
    ST. BONAVENTURE

    • The Bonnies are tied for third in the A-10 with a 4-1-0 record.
    • Forward Anna Cunningham was named to the 2009 Atlantic 10 Soccer Preseason All-Conference Team. Cunningham is second on team in shots (26), points (8), and assists (4).
    • The St. Bonaventure women's soccer team has had three players earn A-10 weekly honors this season; goalkeeper Nicole Markert, freshman goalkeeper Kathryn Kerkman was named A10 women's soccer Rookie of the Week, and Courtney Bosse was named the A-10 Conference's first Player of the Week this season.
    • Markert is seventh in goals against average (1.14), fourth in save percentage (.828), fifth in saves (53), third in saves per game (5.3) and sixth in shutouts (3) in the A-10.
    • Bosse is in the top ten of nearly every A-10 offensive category (7th in shots (35), 10th in shots per game (2.5), 9th in points (13), and tied 1st in game-winning goals (4).
    • Janelle Taylor leads the team in assists, passing out five.

    DUQUESNE
    • Duquesne is 3-9-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the Atlantic 10. They hold a 2-3-0 record at home at Rooney Field.
    • Junior keeper Gabby Morrin was named to the 2009 Atlantic 10 Preseason Women's Soccer All-Conference Team. Morrin has a .667 save percentage allowing 1.86 goals per game and three shutouts.
    • Samantha Kaiser leads the Dukes in points (10) and goals (5).
    • Duquesne has an 0-5-0 record in Atlantic 10 games and is being outscored 12-6 by their conference opponents.
    • The Dukes are on a six game losing streak after falling to Saint Joseph's (1-2) and Temple (2-3) last weekend.
    • Morgan Herbert leads the team in shots (27) and game-winning goals (2).

    FIT TO BE TIED
    UD has five ties in 14 games so far this season. That breaks the school record that was set in 2007 (13-4-4) and in 1984 (5-8-4). The Flyers have also played in six double overtime matches. The most ever double overtime matches played by a UD squad in a season was in 2007 when the Flyers had eight (UD was 4-0-4 in those games).

    THIS GIRL IS A KEEPER
    Freshman goalkeeper Katherine Boone (7-0-5) leads the Atlantic 10 with a 0.29 Goals-Against Average, which is also good enough for the fourth-best GAA in the country. She has posted a league-best eight shutouts. Her .895 save percentage is also first in the A-10 and sixth in the nation. Boone was named A-10 Rookie of the Week on Sept. 8 for posting two shutouts in the Hurricane Cup, against Navy and Western Carolina.

    A-10 PRESEASON PICKS
    UD led the way with five selections on the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference and All-Rookie Teams. Seniors Mandi Bäck and Colleen Gibson , along with sophomore Kathleen Beljan, were named to the 2009 Preseason All-Conference Team for the Flyers. Freshmen Alexis Garcia and Colleen Williams were selected to the 11-person Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Rookie Team.

    TERRIFIC TUCKER
    Head Coach Mike Tucker's Flyer squads are 114-22-8 in A-10 play. He is the only active coach in the A-10 to achieve more than 100 women's soccer A-10 wins. The Flyers earned a league record 13th consecutive trip to the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship and dealt Fordham a 2-1 loss in the semifinals to give Tucker his 200th career victory. He went on to be named the Ohio Coach of the Year. UD has won seven of the 14 conference regular season titles. In addition, his teams have won the A-10 Tournament Championship five times (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004).

    FLYER SUCCESS
    The Dayton women's soccer program owns an overall record of 342-151-37 (.661 winning percentage) since it became a varsity program in 1984. The Flyers made NCAA Tournament Appearances in 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
