TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Dayton left-handed pitcher Cameron Hobson has been named a 2009 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American. It was announced on Wednesday by Collegiate Baseball.

Hobson put up record numbers for the Brown Street Bombers, posting a 7-1 balance in the win-loss category for a 3.43 ERA and a school record 83 strikeouts. Additionally, his freshman efforts for UD helped him earn this year's Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year award.

Hobson's seven wins helped UD set a new program record with 38 wins this season and become just the second A-10 team to reach surpass the 20 win mark in conference play, Dayton also broke team records in hits, RBI, runs scored and batting average this season.
