The University of Dayton marching band, "The Pride of Dayton", will perform the national anthems at the USA-Mexico World Cup Qualifier match Saturday at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

"The band members are very excited about the performance at the soccer game as it is an opportunity to play for people who would not ordinarily get to see us," Band Director Professor Eric Wiltshire said. "Performances such as this are an important part of fulfilling our mission of actively supporting and promoting the University of Dayton."

The Pride of Dayton will be represented at the soccer game Saturday by about 80 members of the marching band. The band will be performing music for the opening ceremonies including the Star Spangled Banner and the Mexican National Anthem.

Although the band primarily performs at home Flyer football games, The Pride is often asked to perform at events around the region and selects a few each year to perform at. The band will also perform at the Kettering Holiday at Home parade and the MDA Telethon from Hara Arena during Labor Day weekend. Other off campus events include a performance September 17 at the West Carrollton Festival of Marching Bands and the Alzheimer's Memory Walk September 25. They also do a concert on campus during Parents Weekend.
