FLYERS AHEAD IN THE "BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR COLLEGE BASKETBALL ATMOSPHERE" VOTING

The Dayton Flyers currently sit atop the "Best Under-the-Radar College Basketball Atmosphere" competition with less than a week remaining in the voting.

The “Best Under-the-Radar College Basketball Atmosphere” competition will find the craziest, loudest, most unique, tradition-rich game-day atmospheres which are lesser-known nationally.

Nine other schools are nominated and the winner will have an in-depth feature during the “Best of College Basketball” special which airs March 25, at 3 p.m. ET on CBS Sports.

The Red Scare and the loyal locals of Dayton fill UD Arena, providing a danger zone for visiting opponents. The annual site for the NCAA Tournament’s ‘First Four,’ UD Arena has hosted more than 14-million basketball fans since its inception in 1969.

The nine other schools nominated for “Best Under-the-Radar College Basketball Atmosphere” presented by Enterprise Rent-A-Car are: John Brown, Missouri State, New Mexico, North Carolina A&T, Northern Iowa, San Diego State, Taylor, Utah State, and Western Kentucky.
