Boxscore

BRONX, N.Y. –
The University of Dayton women’s basketball team used balanced, efficient scoring in a 62-37 win over Fordham in Atlantic 10 action Saturday at Rose Hill Gym.

UD improves to 12-5 overall and 4-1 in the A-10 while the Rams drop to 10-10, 1-4 in conference play.

The 37 points scored by the Rams is the lowest total the Flyers have held an opponent this season.

Senior Patrice Lalor paced all scorers with 13 points to lead the Flyers, who shot a season-high 48.9 percent from the field (22-of-45). Senior Justine Raterman added 11 points and freshman Andrea Hoover had 10 points and a career-high eight rebounds.  Senior Elle Queen contributed nine points, five assists, four rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot. Freshman Ally Malott chipped in seven points

The Flyers held Fordham to just one made field goal in the first five minutes of the game to build a 10-2 lead.

The Rams got within two, 18-16, with 4:04 to play in the game but UD closed out the first period with a 12-0 run, sparked by back-to-back Hoover three-pointers, to hold a 30-16 lead at the half.

Fordham never got within double digits the rest of the way. Dayton outscored Fordham 32-21 in the second half and held a 27-point lead with 1:30 to play on a Malott layup.

After being out-rebounded 17-12 in the first half, the Flyers battled back on the boards to hold a 36-29 rebounding advantage for the game.

Dayton returns to UD Arena to face off against Richmond on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. ET.
