COLUMBUS, Ohio – An even-par 71 by sophomore Brenten Blakeman in round three helped the Dayton Flyers finish in seventh at the 2011 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate.

Blakeman’s 71 was his lowest score since shooting a 70 at the Renaissance Invitational back in October 2010. He had three birdies in round three and finished in 19th among individuals.

Dayton as team improved in each round. After shooting a 302 and 297 in the first two rounds, UD had a 294 in round three.

Junior Michael Oberschmidt tied for 23rd among individuals after carding a 76 in round three. He had a 76 and 70 in the first two rounds.

Up next was senior Chris Woeste, who was one-over par with a 72 in round three. Woeste finished in a tie for 30th after adding three birdies in his final round as well.

Sophomore Sean Keating shot a 78 in the final round and sophomore Matt Buse rebounded to finish strong with a 75 in round three.

The 2010-11 season will conclude for UD at the 2011 Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Championship. The event will take place from April 29 – May 1 in Howie-In-The-Hills, Fla.
