FAIRBORN, Ohio –  The University of Dayton women’s basketball team notched a 91-61 victory over Wright State Monday night at the Nutter Center in front of a crowd of 1,029.

Flyer junior Justine Raterman led all scorers with 26 points, shooting 10-of-14 from the floor, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. The Versailles, Ohio native scored the 1,000th point of her career with 5:50 left to play in the game to give UD a commanding 80-57 lead. She also tied a career-high for steals with four.

Twelve different Flyers scored in UD’s largest margin of victory this season. Senior Kristin Daugherty chipped in 15 points and Patrice Lalor had 10. UD shot a season best 52.9 percent from the floor (38-of-68) and also only allowed the Raiders 31.8 percent from behind the arc – also a Flyer season best.

UD outrebounded the Raiders 49-35, and were paced by junior Casey Nance’s seven boards. Raterman and freshman Cassie Sant each added six rebounds.

Dayton also had a season-best 12 steals which led to 36 Flyer points off of turnovers. Lalor led the way with a career-high five steals, all coming in the first half. Raterman added four to also tie her career high.

The Flyers led 47-35 at the half, powered by Raterman’s 14 points and Lalor’s 10 points. UD shot 51.4 percent from the floor in the first period, but allowed the Raiders to convert on 50 percent from behind the arc (5-of-10).

The Flyers host Cincinnati this Thursday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at UD Arena. It is Dayton’s Military Appreciation game. UD will recognize Wright Patterson Air Force Base personnel who have just returned from overseas.
