DAYTON, Ohio -
The University of Dayton women’s basketball team rolled to a 72-54 win against the Saint Louis Billikens (9-18, 3-9 A-10) on senior day at UD Arena. Dayton (18-6, 10-2 A-10) had a balanced scoring attack, which was led by senior Patrice Lalor and freshman Andrea Hoover’s 14 points. Senior Casey Nance also scored in double figures with 11 points.

Dayton never trailed in the game as its lead ballooned to as high as 23 in the second half. UD connected on 8-of-17 three-pointers, while holding a 34-28 edge on points in the paint.

UD’s defense forced 23 turnovers, and scored 22 points off of turnovers. The Flyers shot 42 percent from the field, while Saint Louis scored at an efficient 46 percent from the field.

SLU’s double-figure scorers were Desirae Ball, who led the Billikens with 13, and Lorreal Jones who netted 11. Ball and Jones combined for 17 of the team’s 24 first-half points.

Seven UD seniors were honored in a pre-game ceremony. Justine Raterman, Casey Nance, Elle Queen, De’Sarae Chambers, Kayla Moses, Patrice Lalor and Staci Willis were each honored for their contributions since arriving at UD. The senior class has won 85 games thus far, and has gone to the postseason in each season. In 2010, they rallied from an 18-point deficit to earn Dayton’s first-ever win in the NCAA Tournament, a 67-66 victory over Texas Christian University.

Dayton resumes action Wednesday, Feb. 22 as they take on their rival Xavier Muskateers at UD Arena. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. ET
