LONG BEACH, Calif. – University of Dayton junior defender Jack Pearson is ranked as the sixth-best player in the Atlantic 10 according to TopDrawerSoccer.com’s Collegiate Players to Watch.

A team captain, Pearson has helped the defense combine for one shutout this season. He also has two assists on the year for Dayton.

In his career, Pearson has played in 65 games and has 24 points (9 G, 6 A). Since stepping foot on campus as a freshman, the team has amassed 26 shutouts.

Pearson was selected as a Top 30 Finalist for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award this season.  He was also selected to the 2011 Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team. Last season Pearson was a second team All-Atlantic 10 honoree. He was also selected to the NSCAA All-East Region Third Team in 2010.

The Flyers (1-8) return home this weekend for a match against SIU Edwardsville at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Baujan Field. Admission is free to all University of Dayton men’s soccer regular season home games.
