DAYTON - Dayton Flyers men's golf head coach Gip Hoagland announced the 2011 fall schedule which includes five events in three states.

UD opens the 2011-12 campaign at the University of Kentucky Fall Invitational from Sept. 17-18 in Lexington, Ky.

A week later the Flyers return to the Commonwealth of Kentucky to compete in the Cardinal Classic. Hosted by the University of Louisville, the tournament will take place Sept. 26-27.

In October, Dayton zips down south to compete at the Miromar Lakes Collegiate in Fort Myers, Fla. The invite will be held Oct. 2-3 with Xavier University as the host.

A week later, UD plays in the Bearcat Invitational at the Traditions Golf Club in Hebron, Ky. The tournament takes place from Oct. 10-11.

Finally, the Flyers wrap up with the UD Fall Invitational at the NCR Country Club. The tournament will take place from Oct. 17-18.

Dayton returns eight golfers from last year’s team. The Flyers’ top returnees are senior Michael Oberschmidt and juniors Brenten Blakeman and Sean Keating.

Oberschmidt and Blakeman each tied for second in scoring averaging 76.0 strokes per round last season. Keating, a 2010 Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection, had a 77.8 stroke average last year.
