FLYERS FACE BILLIKENS IN CRUCIAL ROAD TEST

DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton softball team heads to Saint Louis on Saturday to face the Saint Louis Billikens in a key Atlantic 10 doubleheader at 1 p.m. ET.

The Flyers are 4-4 in the Atlantic 10 and sit in seventh place, one spot out of their first berth in the A-10 Tournament under Head Coach Cara LaPlaca. The Billikens sit in the final qualifying spot with a 6-4 record in conference play.

UD is coming off of a pair of tough losses against the Horizon League’s Butler Bulldogs, who are first in the league. Both of Dayton’s starting pitchers Alysha Isaacson (7-6) and Amanda Daly (2-6) set new season highs in strikeouts against the Bulldogs. Isaacson struck out six, while pitching a complete game for Dayton. Daly threw 5.0 innings and had five strikeouts.

Junior Lauren Nacke is hitting .353 this season. She leads the team with nine home runs. She is also tied for the team-lead with 27 RBI. Sophomore Kathleen Maloof also has 27 RBI. Maloof leads the team with seven doubles.

Senior left fielder Kristin Nicoletti leads SLU in batting average (.350), hits (42), runs (27), on-base percentage (.418), triples (three), total bases (56) and stolen bases (17, in 20 attempts). Nicoletti ranks second on the team in doubles (eight) and slugging percentage (.467).

Junior right-hander Hannah Huebbe leads the pitching staff with a 9-5 record (three shutouts), a 2.73 ERA and a .241 opponents' batting average.
