DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team opened the home portion of its 2023 schedule with two run-rule wins over visiting Bellarmine at UD Softball Stadium Thursday. Junior infielder 
Taylor Erschen knocked out two home runs and graduate student 
Alyssa Cacini collected four RBI on the day.
Dayton heads into Atlantic 10 Conference play with an 11-10 mark on the season while Bellarmine moves to 1-19 overall.
GAME ONE
Dayton 8, Bellarmine 0 (5 inn.)
3 - sophomore 
Emma Schutter was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and also scored two runs
3 - Cacini recorded her fourth three-RBI game of the season
3 - senior 
Emily Daniel tallied a career-high-tying three stolen bases in the game
4 - four Flyers posted multi-hit games
7 - freshman 
Izzy Kemp dealt seven strikeouts over 4.0 innings of work

GAME TWO
Dayton 9, Bellarmine 1 (5 inn.)
2 - senior 
Quinn Pallardy was the third Flyer with a multi-hit game as she was 2-for-3 while also scoring two runs and recording two putouts in right field
2 - Erschen and senior 
Kaelene Walter tallied two RBI apiece
3 - both Schutter and sophomore 
Maddie Kapsimalis went 3-for-3 at the plate
6 - sophomore 
Haven Dwyer recorded her sixth win of the season in the circle for the Flyers

UP NEXT
Dayton is scheduled to host Fordham this weekend to open Atlantic 10 Conference action. The Flyers and Rams are set to play two on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 12 p.m. at UD Softball Stadium. Admission is free.
