COACH ORDWAY'S QUOTE
The women were led by
Emily Leonard, who barely missed the school record, followed by
Chloe Flora, finishing just behind her with a 1-2 finish, which was big for her.
Taylor Vernot and
Emily Borchers finished side-by-side with
Grace McDonald finishing fifth as the kicker. We did a really good job sticking to the game plan. We wanted to walk away with a team championship and an individual title. Everyone showed up and did exactly that. The women are very focused and we are looking strong as a team. We had a bunch of PRs today and we are not even in the heaviest part of the training cycle yet. We are also looking forward to Notre Dame in two weeks and we are hoping to have another solid finish there and to keep things rolling into the postseason
The Flyers will race next at the 39
th Annual National Catholic Invitational 5k hosted by Notre Dame on Friday, Sept. 15. The women's race starts at 4:15 p.m.
