NEW YORKÂ -Â "CBS This Morning" aired correspondent Dana Jacobson's feature about the Dayton Flyers men's basketball audio broadcasts in Mandarin Chinese.
This is the second straight season the Flyers have broadcasted in Mandarin. Mandarin is the most widely spoken dialect in China.
The announcers are all full-time University of Dayton students, whose majors range from electro-optics engineering to financial mathematics. Yiqing Zhou and Xueyin Shi will be featured in the piece on "CBS This Morning." They are part of a team of five individuals who rotate doing the games.
Enrollment of Chinese students has increased dramatically from a bare handful to an estimated 450 in the last decade. Chinese students make up the most of any international student population at UD.
