DAYTON - University of Dayton volleyball head coach Tim Horsmon has announced the addition of Mackenzie Weaver to the team, a transfer from Syracuse.

"We really think Mackenzie makes our program better, and she is a talented, six-rotation player who can play at either pin," commented Horsmon. "Her volleyball IQ is high, and Mackenzie is also a physical player who can score and make things tough on opposing attackers."

A 6-1 outside hitter from Mt. Gilead, Ohio, Weaver played prep volleyball at Lexington High School under head coach (and mother) Bobbi Weaver. She was a three-time Ohio Cardinal Conference Offensive Player of the Year and was four times honored on the OCC First Team. During her senior season, Weaver helped lead the Minutemen to the Ohio State Semifinals. During her one season at Syracuse, she averaged 2.58 kills/set over 21 starts for the Orange.

Weaver will join Bridget Doherty and Maria Schorr as newcomers to the Flyers' roster in 2017.
