1. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT: Head Coach
Archie Miller and the Dayton Flyers officially begin the 2014-15 season with the first team practice on Saturday, Oct. 4. UD will also host the annual Red & Blue game on Saturday, Oct. 25 with the time to be announced.
2. NEW LOOK, NEW UNIFORMS: Coming off an Elite 8 run, the Dayton Flyers partnered with Nike Basketball to take the court with a new uniform concept. It is a part of a new logo and identity for the Dayton Flyers athletics program. The Flyers will wear white at home, red on the road and midnight blue as a third jersey.
3. ELITE SEASON: Dayton finished 2013-14 ranked 18th in the final USA Today Coaches Poll. UD's 26 wins were the third-most in school history. The Flyers return the bulk of UD's "True Team" 11-man rotation for next year. That includes leading scorer
Jordan Sibert (12.2 ppg) at guard and NCAA All-Region selection
Dyshawn Pierre (11.2 ppg) at forward.
4. TUNE IN: For the second straight year, the University of Dayton men's basketball team will play record number of nationally-televised games in the 2014-15 regular season. After having 17 regular season games that were seen on various networks last year, the Flyers will play a school-record 21 contests on national television in 2014-15. Counting three games in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, Dayton will play eight games on the ESPN family of networks, seven on CBS Sports Network, four on NBC Sports Network and two on SNY.
5. DAYTON REGION WALK OF FAME: The Dayton Region's Walk of Fame inducted the University of Dayton men's basketball program and four distinguished individuals on Sept. 25. UD basketball's citation reads "The University of Dayton Men's Basketball Program (est. 1903) is one of the most successful college basketball teams, on and off the court, in NCAA history. On the court, the Flyers are one of a handful of teams to have more than 1,500 wins."
