Final Results
The Dayton men's tennis team concluded play at the Toledo Invitational on Saturday against stiff competition including Atlantic 10 rivals Duquesne and Xavier, and non-conference foes Cleveland State and Toledo. Senior Joshua Vance earned one-half point for Dayton on day two as the Flyers finished in fifth place.
Vance defeated Adam Perkins 6-1, 6-3 in Dayton's flight "C" singles mini-match against Cleveland State. However, junior Brad Roby dropped close match to Aris Spirtos, 4-6, 6-4, 12-10, meaning the Flyers and Vikings would split the one point.
Duquesne, which took a lead into Saturday's match play, held off the competition to take first place.
Dayton is back in action on Friday, September 28 and Saturday, September 29 at the Wright State Invitational in Fairborn, Ohio. |
