PHILADEPHIA – The University of Dayton Flyers finished their season with a 1-0 loss to the La Salle Explorers on Sunday. Dayton ends the season with a 7-8-3 overall record and a 3-4-2 Atlantic 10 record.
The Flyers were shutout for the second consecutive match. They also lost 1-0 to Fordham on Friday which dashed their hopes for a berth in the A-10 Tournament.
The conference’s leading scorer Ryan Richter had La Salle’s lone strike of the game. Richter closed in on Dayton goalkeeper Tyler Picard and planted the ball in the back of the net.
Picard made nine saves in the contest as the Flyers were outshot 21-9. La Salle’s John McCarthy made six stops in the game.
Details for the men’s soccer banquet have not been announced. However, several league awards are due to be announced this week including All-Conference and Academic All-Conference selections.
