PGA professional and former Miami Valley Golf Club Director of Operations Chris Hale enters his third season with the Dayton Flyers and second as an assistant.
In 2008-09 Hale served as the team's head coach. Dayton finished the 2008-09 season in seventh place at the Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship.
In June 2009, Hale down from the head position and will assume a role as the volunteer assistant coach for the Flyers. During the 2009 campaign, Dayton concluded the season finishing in fourth at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Championship. Some of the highlights included Chris Woeste joining a select club as he was named to the 2010 Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf All-Academic Team and Sean Keating earning a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team.
Hale, who achieved PGA membership in February 1973, comes to UD after serving as the Director of Golf Operations at the Miami Valley Golf Club. Since November 2005, Hale helped develop and maintain a budge of up to $3.5 million, managed the golf operations staff and improved golf teaching programs.
A Dayton native, Hale's other duties during his 30-year career include serving as the head golf club professional at Cassel Hills Golf Course in Vandalia, Ohio and owning and operating the Penn Terra Golf Course in Brookville, Ohio.
