  • 2008 Fall Schedule

Dayton Flyers first-year head coach Chris Hale announced the 2008 fall golf schedule which includes six road tournaments and the UD Ryder Cup hosted in October.

The Flyers open the fall season Sept. 8 and 9 at the John Piper Invitational hosted by Bowling Green State.

UD travels to Lemont, Ill. Sept. 21 and 22 to compete in the John Dallio Memorial Invitational hosted by DePaul. The Flyers will then compete at the Cardinal Intercollegiate hosted by Louisville on Sept. 29 in Louisville, Ky.

One week later the Flyers head to Olean, N.Y. to play in the Leo Keenan Invitational for a two-day tournament hosted by St. Bonaventure Oct. 5-6. UD plays two weeks later at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate on Oct. 20 and 21 hosted by Austin Peay in Hopkinsville, Ky.

Dayton caps the fall campaign hosting the UD Ryder Cup Oct. 23 and 24. It will be the first tournament the Flyers have hosted since the 2007 UD Spring Invitational held at the historic NCR Country Club.

Coming off a second place finish at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship, the Flyers return all nine golfers from a year ago. UD is led by the 2008 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, Rob Chappell and the 2008 A-10 Rookie of the Year, Chris Woeste.

In 2007-08 UD also placed in the top 10 at six events and had three Flyers, Chappell, Zach Glassman and Ian Gilley, earn Atlantic 10 weekly honors.
