FORT WAYNE, Ind. - FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Both the University of Dayton men's and women's golf teams were in action Monday on the first day of the IPFW Fall Classic at Deer Track Golf Club in Fort Wayne. The men are seventh after two rounds with a score of 588 while the women are ninth with a 689.

Freshman Rob Chappell fired scores of 74 and 70 and is tied for 18th overall on the men's side while junior Lindsey Greuter is tied for 15th in the women's event with scores of 81 and 76. Both the men and women will complete play Tuesday.

Chappell continues his hot play for the Flyers this fall. Coming off medalist honors at the Colonial Classic last week, the freshman carded a 74 in round one and came back with a one-under 70 on the 6,582-yard course in Monday's second round for a 144 total.

Senior Adam Myers posted a two-under par, season-low 69 in the second round Monday after opening with a 77. He sits tied for 24th overall with a 146. Freshman Matt Friend is also tied for 24th with rounds of 72-74. Freshmen Nike Trubee (81-73--154) and Mark Juve (79-75--154) are tied for 41st. Both the 73 and 75 are career-bests for Trubee and Juvee.

The men had two players competing as individuals - freshman Mitch Custenborder is tied for 34th at 150 (72-78) and sophomore Chad Underwood is 46th at 158 (81-77).

Oakland University leads the men's tournament with team score of 557 (-11).

On the women's side, Greuter is tied for 15th as she carded rounds of 81 and a season-best 76 on the par-71, 6,102-yard layout. Freshman Danielle Hawksley is tied for 30th with a 168 (83-85).

Junior Melissa Gaus (93-86--179) and freshman Michelle Borchers (185--90-95) complete the field for the Flyers.

Butler University leads the women's tournament with a 610 team score.
