BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's and women's cross country teams concluded their seasons at the NCCA Great Lakes Regional on Saturday in Bowling Green, Ohio. The men's team posted their best finish in 26 years at the event. The Flyers, led by sophomore Mike Andersen, finished 19th among 31 other teams. The women's squad led by Kristin Terry, finished 25th among 30 other teams.

Andersen, a three-time A-10 Performer of the Week honoree this year, crossed the finish line at 31:59 in 30th place at the ten-kilometer event held on Bowling Green State University's campus.

Fellow teammate Eric Contreras was next to follow for the Flyers finishing in the 123rd spot in a time of 34:07. The senior, recently named the A-10 Student Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row, has placed second in every meet this year for the Flyers.

Matt Peters and Michael Connolly scored in the third and fourth spots, respectively. Peters ran the course in 34:40 for 146th place and one-second later Connolly crossed the finish line in 147th place at 34:41. Daniel Sammons rounded out the scoring clocking in at 34:49, good for 153rd place.

Also running well for the Flyers were Tommy Middleton (35:29) and Tim Kaelin (36:34) who displaced more than 200 runners.

For the women, freshman Kristin Terry was the first across the line in the six-kilometer race. Terry posted a time of 23:44 placing 119th overall.

Behind Terry was Sydney Hubbard who clocked in at a time of 23:51 for 126th place. UD's third scorer was underclassman Alex Miles who placed 135th overall (24:01). Ellen Nienhaus and Amy Kempf rounded out the scoring for UD's team. Nienhaus ran strong with a time of 24:09 for 141st place and Kempf followed in 160th place at 24:35.

Displacing 209 runners from 31 teams was Anne Oltman who ran the course in 25:17 for 175th place.
