OLEAN, N.Y. – Josh Parker had a season-high 19 points, while Kevin Dillard finished with 10 points and eight assists as the Dayton Flyers lost to the St. Bonaventure Bonnies 81-73.

Dayton had its four-game winning streak snapped. The Flyers dropped to 12-5 overall and 2-1 in Atlantic 10 play.

UD trailed 70-68 with 3:35 remaining in regulation before the Bonnies went on a 10-0 to close the game. During that stretch, Dayton missed four field goals and two lay-ups.

Overall, the Flyers started the game 7-of-14 from beyond the arc, but converted only four 3-pointers in the second half. UD shot 44 percent from the floor, but was 6-of-10 at the free throw line.

Meanwhile, St. Bonaventure made 51 percent of its field goal attempts and was 24-of-28 at the charity stripe.

A big lift at the free throw line for SBU came from the Bonnie post players who sank 18-of-20 free throw attempts. SBU’s Andrew Nicholson led the Bonnies with 30 points and 13 rebounds.

Alex Gavrilovic and Matt Kavanaugh each scored 10 points for Dayton.

Paul Williams scored all eight of his points in the first half. Devin Oliver added eight points and six rebounds and Ralph Hill hauled in a career-best six rebounds.

The Flyers came into the game short-handed without its second and third leading scorers. Josh Benson is out for the year with a torn ACL and Chris Johnson suffered a blow to the head in Monday’s practice. Johnson has not been diagnosed with a concussion, but was held from the trip as a precaution.

Dayton returns home to face the La Salle Explorers on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. ET.
