"Give them credit, they beat us to the punch in the first half. They're a good team and Keith (Akron coach Keith Dambrot) does a great job. That's kind of grind-it-out game Akron usually wins"

"In a lot of ways our two teams are mirror images of each other. They're tough, they rebound, defend, play hard and at times struggle on offense. Luckily for us, we played just good enough in the first half to be within striking distance. Then in the second half, we played defense as good as we have all year long. We played really well. In the second half they went through a 12-minute stretch where they did not score on their initial possession."

"It wasn't `pretty' by any stretch, but getting a win like this on the road feels `pretty' good."

"The last possession that Akron had started with great defense from London (Warren) and Charles (Little) to force a tough shot, and then from out of nowhere a freshman, and not a very big freshman in Chris Johnson, gets the rebound."

"I'm not going to lie, it was real tough coming into an environment like this and getting a win. It was a really hyped-up game and those guys came out really ready to play tonight. Getting this win on the road will help us down the road if you know what I mean. You have to tough out road wins and tonight was an experience we can take with us when we play at Creighton next week."
