DAYTON'S ARCHIE MILLER TO PARTICIPATE IN CHARITY COACHES CHALLENGE

Coach Archie Miller is among some of the nation’s top college basketball coaches compete to raise money for charities in the Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge.
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Dayton Flyers head coach Archie Miller is one of 48 NCAA Division I coaches taking part in the Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge.

Fan participation will determine the winner over an eight-week period, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 18, at espn.com/infiniti.

Infiniti will donate $5,000 to each of the charities involved, along with a $100,000 donation to the winning coach's charity. Miller is representing the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton.

"I'm proud to be a part of the Infiniti Coaches' Charity Challenge, and even prouder that the local charity that will benefit from this is the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton,” Miller said. “Our program's motto is 'All In' and it would be hard to find something better for our fans to be 'All In' for than them."

For the first six weeks, four brackets of 12 coaches will be paired against each other, with the winners from each group moving onto the next round in week seven and the final round in week eight. Fans can vote for up to four coaches per day. The winning coach will be announced March 9, 2012.

From January 18 to March 8, Infiniti is helping 48 of the nation’s top college basketball coaches compete to raise money for charities in the Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge.

Coaches will count on their network of fans, alumni, students, faculty and charities to advance to the finals. School supporters will have a chance to vote daily for their favorite coach in each of the four regions — East, South, West and Midwest.

In order to vote, fans must register online for an ESPN.com account. Registration is a simple and FREE three-step process. Fans can log on to ESPN.com and click the "Register" link in the upper-right corner to get started.

Visit DaytonFlyers.com and keep following UD's social media sites in the coming days on where and how to vote.

Infiniti, a proud corporate partner of NCAA® Men’s Basketball, will donate $5,000 to each participating coach’s selected charity. The coach who receives the most votes will win $100,000, which will be awarded to his selected charity.

"The overwhelming popularity of men's college basketball provides an outstanding platform for coaches across America," said NABC President Ernie Kent. "While most fans follow every aspect of their teams' on-court performances, the Infiniti Coaches' Charity Challenge enables people to see the numerous charitable and community endeavors championed by coaches off the court."
