DAYTON DOWNS LEHIGH 89-71

All 16 players for the University of Dayton men's basketball team made an appearance in Saturday's game as Flyers shot down the Lehigh Mountain Hawks 89-71.

Chris Wright led Dayton in points scoring 16 and grabbing 10 rebounds in only 22 minutes and did not play for the final 10 minutes of the game. It was Wright's second double-double of the season, and his fourth straight double-digit scoring performance. Chris Johnson added 13 points, seven rebounds, and three steals in 25 minutes of play.

Senior point guard Rob Lowery saw his first action of the year. Almost 10 months after tearing the patellar tendon in his right knee, Lowery entered the game the game at the 12:49 mark and immediately received a standing ovation from the crowd of 12,719.

In eight minutes, Lowery scored eight points, shooting three-for-three from the field (2-2 3-pt.) and passing for three assists. UD is 24-2 when Lowery is in the lineup.

The Flyers (5-2) began to break down Lehigh's zone late in the first half and continued to score inside in the second half, building as much as a 27-point lead. Backup center Devin Searcy scored 10 of his career-high 13 points in the second half.

Dayton trailed only once, 3-2, one minute into the game, against Lehigh (3-5). The Flyers went on an 11-2 run to end the half with a 41-26 lead. The Flyer spurt was fueled by forcing turnovers, attacking the basket and making six of seven free throws.

Lehigh, which has never beaten at Atlantic 10 team, was led by C.J. McCollum with 16 points.

The game was head coach Brian Gregory's 200th as a head coach, all for the University of Dayton. Gregory now has 130 career wins and a .650 winning percentage for the Flyers.

Before the game senior Marcus Johnson was honored for joining the 1,000 point club in the match against Miami. He is the 41st player in school history to accomplish the milestone. Marcus Johnson finished the game with nine points which moved him up to No. 39 on Dayton's all-time scoring list with 1,011 career points.

Dayton's next matchup is on the road against George Mason on Tuesday Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. ET. The team returns home in a contest against the Colonial Athletic Association pre-season favorite Old Dominion Monarchs on Friday Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. ET.
