NCAA FIRST AND SECOND ROUNDS AT UD ARENA SOLD OUT

Dec. 30, 2008

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton has announced that the NCAA Men's Basketball First and Second Round Games that will be held at UD Arena on March 20 and 22 are sold out. Tickets for the NCAA Opening Round Game on Tuesday, March 17 remain on sale.

"We're pleased, but not surprised, that our fans are once again stepping forward to support the NCAA tournament in Dayton," UD Vice-President and Director of Athletics Ted Kissell said. "Our staff has earned the reputation as great NCAA hosts, but the partnership between our staff and our fans is what sets UD Arena apart as an NCAA tournament site."

The University of Dayton Arena has been the venue for 75 NCAA tournament games since it opened for the 1969-70 season. After the 2009 Opening Round, and First and Second Round Games, the Arena's 82 NCAA men's basketball games will rank it second all-time and first among buildings currently in use as an NCAA site.

Entering the 2009 tournament, Kansas City's Municipal Auditorium had 83 games between 1940-and 1964, followed by Salt Lake City's Huntsman Center (81) and UD Arena.

Every full-session tournament game played at UD Arena (a total of 63) has been a sellout.

For ticket information on the 2009 NCAA Opening Round Game at UD Arena on March 17, please call the Arena Ticket Office at 937-229-4433.
