WRIGHT NAMED ATLANTIC 10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK FOR 3rd TIME

University of Dayton freshman forward Chris Wright has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for his efforts in UD's two games. It is Wright's third such honor in the five weeks the A-10 has announced its weekly awards this season.

The Trotwood-Madison graduate averaged 12.5 points and 10 rebounds in a pair of victories for the Flyers. He recorded his team-leading third double-double of the season on December 5 with 16 points and 13 rebounds as Dayton turned aside High Point, 68-54. He also scored nine points and grabbed seven boards in the Flyers' 70-65 win at #14/#11 Louisville on December 8.

Wright leads the A-10 in FG% (.629, 44-70), is second in the conference in offensive rebounds (2.88) and seventh in rebounding (7.4). He is the top freshman in the A-10 in all three categories, and is also the top scoring freshman in the league (13.9).

The Flyers are now 7-1, and have won six straight. After a week between games due to semester exams, Dayton is back in action Saturday when the Flyers play host to Coppin State on Tom Blackburn Court. Game time is 7:00 p.m. ET. The Coppin State game is the first of six straight home games for UD.
