Senior centerfielder Bobby Glover extended his season-long hitting streak to 16 games, and senior Michael Hauschild tossed a complete game as the University of Dayton defeated Oakland University 11-5 Friday afternoon at Woerner Field.  Dayton improved to 5-11 on the year, with four of the wins coming in the last six games.

Glover had a double and a home run, scored three runs and had two RBI to lead a balanced Flyer offense.  C.J. Gillman added three hits, while Ian Hundley and Mel Skochdopole each added two.

Hauschild gave up a run in the first, and then retired 19 straight batters before allowing a home run to Oakland’s Mike Carson in the top of the seventh.  By then UD held a 6-2 lead, and was about to add five more in the seventh and eighth innings.  It is his third complete game of the season.

The senior hurler from Beavercreek, Ohio improved to 3-1 on the season. The win gave him 19 career victories, tying him with Bill Brewer, Quinn Haselhorst and current teammate Burny Mitchem for second all-time in career wins at Dayton.

The Flyers will return to action on Saturday with a 3 p.m. ET game against Canisius at Woerner Field.  That game will be preceded by Canisius against Oakland at 11 a.m. ET.
