PHILADELPHIA -- The tournament bracket is set for the 2009 Atlantic 10 Men's Baseball Championship that will be played at Fifth Third Field in Dayton May 20-23. Regular season champion Dayton earned the top seed, and Rhode Island is the second seed. Both teams earned first-round byes.

The double elimination tournament will begin at 12 noon ET with a game between the fourth seed, Massachusetts, and the fifth seed, Fordham, on Wednesday, May 20. Dayton will face the winner of that game at 12 noon ET on Thursday, May 21. Game two is between third-seeded Xavier and sixth-seeded Charlotte on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The winner will take on Rhode Island on Thursday.

The finals of the winners' bracket will be on Friday, May 22. Elimination games will be played on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. ET, and Friday at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The finals will begin Saturday, May 23 at 12 noon ET. The A-10 champion will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA's.

The Flyers won the regular season title after being picked to finish fifth in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll, and that was before losing staff ace Burny Mitchem for the year with a knee injury after just three non-league appearances.

UD was 21-6 this season against Atlantic 10 competition, and is 37-17 overall. The Flyers are just the second team in A-10 history to win more than 20 conference games. Charlotte won 23 games in 2007. The 37 wins are a school single-season record.
