FLYERS COMPLETE SWEEP OVER FORDHAM TO EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO NINE

NEW YORK - The University of Dayton Flyers slid past the Fordham Rams 11-9 on Sunday to complete the sweep and win their ninth straight game.

Today's win moves the Flyers to 29-14 overall and 14-4 in the Atlantic 10.

Zach Jacob and Jimmy Roesinger were both standouts at the plate. Jacob was 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. Roesinger finished 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored.

Mike Hauschild received the start for the Flyers. Hauschild pitched 3.0 innings with one punchout and four walks. Sean Finn collected his fourth win of the season walking one and striking out none. Chuck Ghysels picked up his first save of the season with two strikeouts, allowing just one earned run.

The Flyers picked up the first two runs in the top of the first as Jacob Spaeth scored on Jonathan Castine's ground out. Jacob completed the second run on Cole Tyrell's ground out.

Fordham answered back with a pair of runs over the next three innings to knot the game.

UD chimed in with a pair of runs in the fourth inning. Jacob singled up the middle scoring Roesinger and Navalinski.

Tyrell led off the fifth inning with a solo home run to left center field. Jake Hoover and Max Navalinski added two more runs as Dayton 7-3 lead.

Roesinger's single to right field scored Hoover. Catcher Scott Dunwoody's base hit up the middle scored Roesinger to push the lead further.

The Flyers one run from Jacob in both the seventh and ninth innings to complete the win.

Dayton remains on the road to face Duquesne next Saturday at 3:00 p.m. ET.
