RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Dayton Flyers pounded out 19 hits in a 13-7 downing of the Richmond Spiders at Pitt Field on Friday.

The Flyers increase their record to 19-13 overall and 7-3 in the Atlantic 10. Richmond is now 13-14 and 3-7 in the conference.

Jacob Spaeth and Jimmy Roesinger both combined for three RBI on the day. Spaeth was 4-for-6 with one run scored. Roesinger was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored for Dayton.

Jonathan Castine was 3-of-5 with one RBI and three runs scored while left fielder Max Navalinski was .500 on the day scoring three runs and a pair of RBI.

Cameron Hobson provided seven innings of relief for Mike Hauschild on the day. Hobson fanned four batters and walked one while allowing four earned runs. Hauschild pitched two innings for the Flyers allowing one walk and three runs.

Castine opened the scoring for UD on Friday with a solo home run over the right centerfield wall. Spaeth's double to left field brought home Roesinger and Navalinski to pull Dayton ahead 3-1 in the top of the second inning.

The Flyers continued to add runs in spurts with another three run inning in the third. Navalinski pounded a two-run shot to right centerfield scoring Castine and himself on the play. Catcher Scott Dunwoody's double drove home Roesinger to increase the lead to 6-3.

Roesinger added the lone tally in the fifth on a sacrifice fly that scored short stop Cole Tyrell. Spaeth drove home Roesinger in the top of seventh on a base hit to right field.

Dayton continued its relentless assault on the Richmond pitchers, despite the 8-4 lead through seven innings. Marshall MacDonald scored the first run in the eighth inning on a balk, and then Roesinger came through again with a double to right field that scored Navalinski and Castine.

Spaeth scored in the ninth inning after a fielding error allowed MacDonald to reach first. Tyrell's base hit to left field scored MacDonald as the Flyers cruised to a 13-7 win.
