Poor weather in South Carolina has pushed back today's anticipated season opener for the University of Dayton baseball team. Coach Tony Vittorio's Flyers will instead look to play a pair of nine-inning games at Wofford on Sunday. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 12 noon.
Dayton had its most successful season in the program's history in 2005, which als began at Wofford with the Flyers taking two of three games from the Terriers. UD had a school record 36 wins overall including 16 wins in Atlantic 10 play, its most ever. It was the third 30-win season in the past five years and led to the program's third berth in the Atlantic 10 Championships. |
