PHILADELPHIA -  Sophomore centerfielder Bobby Getty was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the second time this season Monday.

Getty collected eight hits in 18 at bats for the Flyers (17-9, 4-2 A-10 who are off to their best start in school history. He had three homer and 11 RBI during the week while recording five RBI in two of his four games played. Getty drove in five runs last Wednesday as Dayton rallied from a 14-0 deficit to defeat Butler, 21-17, in the largest come-from-behind win in program history. He also knocked in five of the Flyers' six runs in a 7-6 loss to Rhode Island Sunday.

The centerfielder from Centerville, Ohio leads UD in hits (40), batting average (.408), doubles (7), slugging percentage (.622) and on base percentage (.500). He is also tied for the team lead with 15 walks and 24 RBI on the year and is tied for second with 23 runs scored. He also has a team-best 16 multiple-hit games to go along with five multi-RBI performances.

The Flyers will begin a home-and-home series with Miami (Ohio) for their next two games. UD will travel to Oxford, Ohio for a 3 p.m. game Tuesday. Dayton will then host the RedHawks Wednesday in a 3 p.m. contest.
