PHILADELPHIA - Junior starting pitcher Luke Trubee won his second Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week award Monday as he helped UD to a 3-0 start in conference play.
Trubee was honored after recordindg a complete-game shutout in an 8-0 win over St. Bonaventure on Saturday. The Xenia, Ohio native allowed just two base runners on a pair of hits and faced just one batter over the minimum while tallying eight strikeouts.
The righthander has a 5-1 record this season and leads the team in wins, complete games (4), earned run average (2.25), strikeouts (42) and innings pitched 48.0. He also has a 8.40 strikeout-to-walk ratio as he has surrendered just five bases on balls all season.
The Flyers, winners in 10 their last 11 games, travel to IPFW for a 2 p.m. game on Tuesday. UD will then return home to host Butler Wednesday in a 2 p.m. contest at Time Warner Cable Stadium. |
