UD put the game out of reach with another rally in the seventh inning that began with a one-out single to right field by Shawn Gizynski. Jacob Spaeth and Kevin Miller then drew back-to-back walks that loaded the bases for Scott Dunwoody. The Flyer catcher responded by hitting a single down the left field line to plate two runs. After a pitching change, Marshall MacDonald walked on five pitched to load the bases again with one out. Cole Tyrell sent in one more run on a RBI groundball to second base to put the Flyers on top 6-2.

Dayton added five more runs in the ninth with a rally that started on a leadoff double to right centerfield by Kevin Miller. Scott Dunwoody followed with a single through the right side of the infield that pushed Miller to third base. After a strike out, Cole Tyrell ripped a RBI single down the left field line to send in Miller and move Dunwoody to second.
