Basketball Practice Facility
 

The renovation of the Physical Activities Center will include a basketball practice facility. Our current basketball facilities, the University of Dayton Arena and Donoher Basketball Center, are first class game and recruiting venues. The final piece of the facility puzzle is a practice facility to: 

▪ Create dedicated basketball practice space on campus. Recent NCAA legislation permits more time for individual and group instruction and workout during the off-season and school year. The proximity of the facility to classes, professors, academic centers, and dorms is advantageous. Players can work out during the day and spend more time with coaches for mentoring and instruction. 

▪ Provide an additional recruiting tool. The Donoher Center and UD Arena provide us a showcase for recruits. A dedicated practice space does not need to be a showcase, but recruits are focused on access to facilities to improve their games. The proximity of the facility to academic essentials and campus serves to send a strong message to prospective student athletes about Dayton's commitment to developing student-athletes' individual talents both on and off the court.
