The Champions & Scholars Fund is continuing a challenge to help improve academic and athletic opportunities for student-athletes competing in each of the University of Dayton’s 17 varsity sports.
The challenge serves as an opportunity for all former student-athletes to help boost support of their programs. The sport with the highest percentage of former student-athletes to make a gift by June 30, 2012 will win the challenge. To make it fair, the team ranking will be determined by the percentage of donors.
If you are a former UD student-athlete and have already contributed to Dayton athletics and the Champions & Scholars Fund (regardless of designation), your gift has been calculated in the current giving percentages. UD men’s basketball alumni are currently leading the challenge with 11.6% making a gift to Dayton athletics and the Champions & Scholars Fund in the current fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).
Gifts of any amount impact funding for operational costs, facilities, recruiting and team travel, and scholarship support. Updates on the challenge will be posted frequently on the Champions & Scholars Fund website at
